إلـيــك إلـــه الـخـلـق أرفــــع رغـبـتــي

وإن كـنـتُ يــا ذا الـمــن والـجــود مـجـرمـ

ولـمــا قـســا قـلـبـي وضـاقــت مـذاهـبــي

جـعـلـت الـرجــا مـنــي لـعـفـوك سـلـمــا
فـمـا زلــتَ ذا عـفـو عــن الـذنـب لــم تـزل
تــجــود و تـعــفــو مــنـــة وتـكــرمــا
ألــســت الــــذي غـذيـتـنـي وهـديـتـنــي
ولا زلــــت مـنـانــا عــلـــيّ ومـنـعـمــا
عـسـى مــن لــه الإحـســان يـغـفـر زلـتــي
ويـسـتــر أوزاري ومــــا قــــد تـقــدمــا
فــإن تـعـف عـنــي تـعــف عـــن مـتـمـرد
ظــلــوم غــشــوم لا يــزايـــل مـأتــمــا
و إن تنـتـقـم مــنــي فـلـســت بــآيــس
ولـــو أدخـلــوا نـفـسـي بـجــرم جـهـنـمـا
فصيـحـا إذا مــا كــان فـــي ذكـــر ربـــه
وفيما سواه في الورى كان أعجما
يـقــول: حبـيـبـي أنـــت سـؤلــي وبغـيـتـي
كـفــى بـــك للـراجـيـن ســـؤلا ومـغـنـمـا
أصـــــون ودادي أن يـدنــســه الـــهـــوى
وأحــفــظ عــهــد الــحـــب أن يـتـثـلـمـا
فـفـي يقظـتـي شــوق وفــي غـفـوتـي مـنــى
تــلاحــق خــطــوي نــشــوة وتـرنــمــا
فـجـرمـي عـظـيـم مـــن قـديــم وحــــادث
وعـفــوك يـأتــي الـعـبـد أعـلــى وأجـسـمـا

I submit my hopes to You, O Lord of all creation,

Though I am, O The Provider, Most Generous, a sinner,

When my heart is hardened, and my life is constricted,

I turn to my submission as the way to Your pardon,

Thus when You, The All-forgiving, wipe clean my continuing sins,

Your gift and Your clemency is a boon and an exaltation to me.

Is it not You who nourishes me, guides me?

Therefore cease not your benevolence and bounty to me,

May those who have obtained excellence forgive me my trespass,

And parade not my wrongdoings and things that have passed.

Should You forgive me, O Lord, absolve me of my treachery,

My injustice, that will be pardoned not on the day when grief is recollected,

But should you recompense my wrongs with your torment, still I will not lose hope,

Even as my trespass lands me in the Fire.

He is the one who speaks only in remembrance of his Lord,

And when he is with others in this world, he is silent,

Thus he says, “O my love, You are the One I beseech to, on Whom I place my faith,

Enough is You for those in need for their dependence and their pleas”.

Thus I defend my love, though they be tainted with worldly lust,

Thus I protect this promise of devotion, marred though they may be,

In my waking moments, I pine for You, In my slumber, I hope for You,

Walking beside me, full of hope,

Thus though my sins are mountainous, then and now,

Your forgiveness for Your Slave is most high and most noble

Imam Jalaluddin Muhammad bin Ahmad bin Ibrahim bin Ahmad bin Hashim al Jalal al Mahalli al Qahiri al Shafi’i was born in Shawwal 971H in Cairo.

Imam Jalaluddin al Mahalli studied under Siraj al Din Ibn al Mulaqqin, Siraj al Din al Bulqini, Burhan al Din Ibrahim al Abnasi, al Hafiz Ibn Hajar al Asqalani, Ala’ al Din al Bukhari and Shams al Din al Bisathi.

Aside from his famous book of tafsir, Imam Jalaluddin al Mahalli also authored al Badr al Thali’ bi Sharh Jam al Jawami’, a Sharh ( Explanation ) of Imam al Subki’s book on Usul al Fiqh!

He also wrote the book Kanz al Raghibin Sharh Minhaj al Talibin of Imam Nawawi important text on Shafi’i fiqh and Sharh al Waraqat of Imam al Juwaini’s famous text.

Among his students were al Hafiz Jalaluddin al Suyuti, al Hafiz Shams al Din al Sakhawi, Nur al Din al Samnudi, Imam Muhammad ibn Qasim al Ghazi and many others!

His friends in Cairo said that al Mahalli has a brain more illustrious than a diamond!

Al Hafiz al Suyuti describing  his teacher, said” he ( al Mahalli ) was following the footsteps of the Salaf, enjoining goodness and piety, striving towards ma’ruf and forbidding mungkar acts. Rulers in Cairo wished to seek his audience but he always refuse them.”

Once, a ruler in Cairo wish to provide Imam al Mahalli with some clothings and money but he refuse, saying “I do not seek wealth! I’m proud of my poverty!“

After al Hafiz Ibn Hajar al Asqalani‘s death, the ruler in Cairo wished that Imam al Mahalli replace him as al Qadi al Akbar but Imam al Mahalli refused to accept it and told his colleagues, ” I can’t bear the heat of Hellfire!“

Imam al Mahalli fell sick in the mid of Ramadan 863H and passed away on a Saturday, in the month of Muharram 864H, rahimahullah wa radiyallahu ‘anhu.

It was reported from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar rda  who said, the Holy Prophet (pbuh) have said, “There are no days greater in the sight of Allah SWT nor more beloved than doing amal during these ten days ( of Zul Hijjah ), so increase tahlil, takbir and tahmid during those days!” [Al Tabarani:Mu'jam al Kabir]

• Firstly is of course performing the haj!
• Fasting – since it was reported from the Mother of Believers, Sayyidatuna Hafsah rda that the Holy Prophet ( pbuh ) always fast during the ten days of Zul Hijjah and three days in each month. This is also the practice of the Salaf such as Ibnu Umar rda, al Hasan al Basri, Ibn Sirin and Qatadah. Those who fast on the day of Arafah, all his past and future sins would be forgiven!
• Reciting takbir, tahmid, tahlil and also salawat upon the Holy Prophet (pbuh), as reported by Imam Ahmad rda.
• Reading the Holy Qur’an
• Performing the rawatib solat.
• Performing night prayers.
• Giving alms and silaturrahim.
• Performing the qada’ of Ramadan during the ten days of Zul Hijjah as opined by Sayyidina Ibnu Umar rda.
• Strive in Allah’s path
• Teaching religious knowledge
• Teachings about the virtues of Zul Hijjah.
• Make repentance
• Make istighfar

 الحمد لله نستعينه ونستغفره و نعوذ به من شرور أنفسنا من يهد الله فلا مضل له ومن يضلل فلا هادى له وأثهد أن لا اله الا الله وحده لا شريك له و أشهد أن محمدأ عبده ورسوله أرسله بالحق بشيرا ونذيرا بين بدي الساعة, من يطع الله ورسوله فقد رشد, ومن يعصهما فانه لا يضر الا نفسه, ولا يضر الله شيئا

 يا أيها الناس اتقوا ربكم الذى خلقكم من نفس واحدة وخلق منها زوجها وبث منهما رجالا كثيرا ونساء, واتقوا الله الذي تساءلون به والارحام, ان الله كان عليكم رقيبا

 ياأيها الذين أمنوا اتقوا الله حق تقاته ولا تموتن الا وأنتم مسلمون

 ياأيهاالذين أمنوا اتقوا الله وقولوا قولا سديدا, يصلح لكم أعمالكم ويغفرلكم ذنوبكم, ومن يطع الله ورسوله فقد فاز فوزا عظيما
