Losing Wudhu As a Result of Napping

Posted in Taharah Q&A at 11:37 pm by PakNik

How does one know that one has lost consciousness after one has taken a nap? How many minutes must have passed or what are the signs that would clearly indicate that one must make wudhu again? For example laying down with one’s eyes closed – one may be completely alert. At what point would one reach the threshold of unconsciousness that would require making wudhu again?

Performing ablution while naked

Would you please clarify the statement given in a previous answer? Must one cover one’s nakedness while performing wudu in the shower, or is one’s nakedness irrelevant while in the shower?

Does washing the following body parts only once, fulfill the minimum requirement of wudu according to the Shafi’i madhab — washing face once, hands and arms once, wiping a single hair once, and washing each foot (and between toes) once?

Doubts about validity of wudu

Posted in Taharah Q&A at 11:28 pm by PakNik

I thought my wudu was invalid because I was wiping my feet instead of washing them and I wasn’t washing my whole face.
Can someone answer this according to Sha’afi Fiqh?
If I have been performing my wudu wrong for years, do I have to make up all those prayers since I didn’t know or was uncertain if my wudu was right or wrong at the time?
